How are funds raised?
The Board raises funds in a variety of ways. Businesses include a thrift shop (the Carry On Shop); two gift shops, one in the main Hospital and a second in the Outpatient Center; and four coffee bars, one each located in the Outpatient Center, in the Weinberg Building ("Juice & Java"), at Green Spring Station Pavilion II, and the cart in the Nelson Lobby (Java Java).
Special Events include regularly-scheduled fundraisers: The Best Dressed Sale held every fall in the Carriage House at Evergreen; Great Taste Tours usually held every other year in the spring; and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Golf Classic held annually in the spring. Other Great Taste special events have included gala dinners and auctions.

Ensuring the future through endowment.
The Women's Board Endowment Fund was established in 1998 to further support the mission of the Board. The goals of this long-term project are to build a strong financial base and to generate income which will supplement and strengthen our support of patient care in the future. It is now valued at more than $1,300,000. |
